10 Random Things About Ling

#1 – I started writing a post entitled “Not All Girls Are B *tches!” – but somehow, my blogging juices dried up and instead, I have had to resort to this list of random things about me.  I may not get to #10.  Gulps.  Please forgive me!

#2 - I am extremely comfortable in front of my Husband of 7 months.  He has seen me in my ugly mug days.  He has seen me with a hairy moustache – in fact, he likes to tease me and say “Hi Tasha!“.  He has seen me sitting on the toilet to pee.  Yes, I am fine with all that…but I still cannot let him watch me pick my nose!  It’s a DISGUSTING habit but someone’s gotta do it!  And that privilege belongs to my right pinky fingerNAIL!

#3 – I detest guys who do all they can to win a girl’s heart, but after winning the challenge, they get bored and dump the poor girl.  Well, I’m a hypocrite.  I am similar in many ways.  I will challenge myself to start projects but once I even cross the first hurdle, I think that I have conquered my challenge and then I move on.  In reality, I have left behind an incomplete project.  E.g. I wanted to learn to play the drums for years.  My Mum bought me a set of drums.  I learnt to play a simple beat…and then that was it.  In my head, I was a drummer.  And then, I moved on to something else.  Sigh.  I’m a loser!

#4 – I don’t like answering my phone.  Sometimes, my phone will ring.  (Yes, I do have SOME friends!)  I look at who it is.  And then I panic.  ”Should I answer it?  Should I ignore it?  Should I answer it?  Should I ignore it?” – by the time I finish procrastinating, the phone will have stopped ringing and I am happy because I didn’t have to make a decision.  That’s the way I roll!!

#5 – I have been playing this Scrabble-like game on my phone called Words With Friends.  And I have been putting down low scoring words so that I don’t TOTALLY kick my friend’s ass.  I feel awful.  Like I’m cheating.  But I don’t want to upset their feelings by having such a high score.  I am usually very competitive but am trying to tame that competitive streak of mine.  ”It’s not all about winning!  It’s about participating!“

#6 – I have developed a weird obsession with lipsticks.  I just want to buy them because they look pretty and it exudes femininity and sophistication.  Is it a sign of ageing?  Or is it a sign of becoming a woman?  Or both?

#7 – Today, I tried to scare myself by thinking of a big hairy spider crawling on me.  I succeeded!  I shook violently with fear.  Not a great idea because I was driving at the time.  (Normal people listen to the radio, Ling!!!!)

#8 – I grimace when I see my Husband eat food that has fallen onto the floor.  Apparently, it’s the “5-second rule”.  Well, the other day, I dipped my finger into raw chicken wing marinade and licked it.  Yes, there was raw chicken sitting in the marinade.  But it smelt so yummy.  I had a slight tummyache later and I confessed to my Husband what I did.  He must be thinking that he married a nutcase!

#9 – “I’ve had my period for 4 weeks now!” is my favourite phrase at the moment.  It’s helped me bond with other females species!  Yay!  I mean, it really sucks having crazy hormones, but if it means gaining more female friends, then it’s a winner!  (Note : It’s that contraceptive implant I have in my arm causing havoc.)

#10 – When I first heard of the “apple store“, I seriously thought that they sold the fruit!  I wondered how they could sell so many varieties of apples…  Anyway, I really want an iPad 2 and an iMac or a MacBook Pro – but then again, who doesn’t?
