Advice To Bloggers Like Me
Posted by Ling on October 22, 2010
Bloggers like me are bloggers who :-
1. Don’t have a clue about the dark side of blogging i.e. html code, databases, FTP, server issues, etc.
2. Just want to blog and not deal with the above
So if you’re like me, here is some sound advice :-
If you are planning to change hosting server (I don’t even know what that means!), then pay extra and get a professional to do it.
It seemed easy enough till :-
1. My websites crashed
2. I lost a lot of work which I had created but not posted up
3. My most popular post is my Tiger Airways review and it was top ranking on Google and now it’s not.
4. I wasted many hours trying to figure out sql, php, FTP and all that nonsensical IT jargon and I still couldn’t figure it out (sadly, watching IT Crowd does not make me an IT expert!)
Basically, the new hosting server offered a cheaper price and made it seem so easy and that I would get a lot of support. Support, my ass!!! I must have talked to 5 robots yesterday who could not figure out the problems. Finally, thank God, my hero, in the form of an amazing girlfriend, came along. She worked some wonders and did something.
However, there are still issues. This website was down for a few hours and also, some links are missing and some posts are missing too – remember, I think I married my father – now where has that gone? The twilight zone of death in blogging world. Sigh.
But please, please, please – if you notice any issues or problems with this site, let me know ASAP and I will try to sort it out.
Thank you for sticking with me through this transitional period.
OH – and I have just found ANOTHER problem – I am unable to upload a photo….why why why me????
Okay, back to talking to a stupid robot to resolve this.
Please excuse me.
Trial :

I have turned to alcohol
EDIT : it worked!!!!!!!!!
