Dear Hater…
Posted by Ling on October 29, 2009
I have been a blogger for over 5 years – writing and recording events of my life. As you can see, writing is a passion of mine.
People have sent me messages encouraging me to blog and I receive a sprinkling of compliments, which make me happy to continue to blog.
So, imagine my surprise, when I received this message the other day regarding my blog :-
“…am sick of sh*t that u write…”
(please note – I put the * there but the original word had the ‘i’)
Yes, ladies and gentleman…I received a HATER message!!!
Okay, I understand that people have different opinions and like and dislike different things, but “sh*t” is VERY EXTREME!
I personally believe my blog is not “sh*t” because :-
- Whatever I write about has actually happened in real life! I have not made up any stories. Some stories sound far-fetched BUT THEY ALL HAPPENED and I am just retelling the story in my own words!!!
- If I write about someone or something, then any feelings I describe about them are what I PERSONALLY feel! I am not forcing anyone to have the same feelings as me.
- If I write about anyone in my blog, then please be assured, no names are revealed. If I rant about a friend, I have already said it to their faces so I am not secretly bitching about anyone behind their backs!! Obviously, if I write about a guy I may like, then I can’t really tell him that…LOL.
- Hundreds of people have read my blogs from all different countries – strangers and friends and family – but none of them have ever complained before!!
Dear Hater,
If you think my blog is “sh*t”, then the solution is really simple – DON’T READ IT THEN!

That's shocking!! Were they too chicken to leave their name as well?
These types of people are just pathetic… if you don't like it, just don't read it, there's no reason to attack someone. She does not blog for you.
On the other hand maybe they're just jealous or have a crush on you and are trying to get your attention…

Don't be pissed, celebrate!
And I'm not being snarky here. When you start receiving hate comments, it means that you've finally made it in the blogging scene
It really annoyed me when I received my first hate comment, hurt even, but after a while and receiving more, I've decided to turn it to a positive point of view.
So good for you on receiving your first hate comment. You've made it!

Hi Ling!
It’s me, Sharon again! I know this is a blog you wrote a while ago, but I stumbled upon it and decided to comment about it. I’ve always had some sort of private blog throughout my whole life, but this year, I started a public one for everyone to see. A couple people decided to follow me and then not only write really mean blogs about me on their own public blog for everyone to see, they’ve also resorted to setting their FACEBOOK statuses about me! Ah, you know you’re almost famous when you have haters BAHAHA. It can get a little overbearing but I think that sometimes, people are too close-minded and quick to judge, so they go ahead and make rude comments about other people without really thinking about it. Also, many haters do it behind a screen… I bet they would never say it to your face. This is why I think they are just darn weak and should suck it up and don’t follow our blogs if they don’t like reading it. Sigh, drama freaks… -___-
Anyway, I’m with you on this…

Don’t give these people any attention (or show you’re affected by them), because that’s exactly what they want… =/
