Everybody Take A Chill Pill!
Posted by Ling on February 27, 2011
Okay, so it is my fault for my public rants on this blog. I admit that.
But seriously, some people need to chill out.
Please do not take everything I write too seriously.
For example, in my last post, I wrote “I’m a village bicycle” – but I was just kidding. I don’t think that. And I am not one.
I know I rant and rave a lot – but it doesn’t mean that I have a lot of anger and bitterness inside me. I don’t.
I know I talk about the past sometimes – but I do not dwell on it.
I am a Christian – but I never said I was perfect – because simply, none of us are.
I tell stories from my perspective – but like I have said before, this is my side of the story only.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Haters, stop sending me hate mail. It really upsets me. This blog is my blog for my opinions. If you don’t like anything I write, don’t read it. Or if you want to retaliate, start your own blog.
And enough with the threats! Please don’t send me messages with threats. It is not nice because my imagination runs wild and I think that you will become a psycho stalking maniac who will come and hunt me down and kill me – just because of my blogs!!! That’s crazy! Stop with the threats, please!
Stop spamming me spammers! I do not want to enlarge my penis or look at porn!
I do get nice fan mail though – so please don’t stop with that.
- People send me mail thanking me for making them laugh.
- People send me mail seeking dental advice.
- People send me mail seeking dating advice.
- People send me comfort mail when I go through tough times.
- Someone even sent me cute fan mail saying that I should have a baby because he or she will be cute! Thanks!
I used to be able to blog whatever I want – but now is a different story…
If I blog about lovey dovey stuff
- Yeah, we know you’ve found your other half, but no need to rub it in our faces!
If I blog about happy stuff
- OMG! She won’t stop boasting!
If I blog about depressing stuff and rant
- Stop whining already! Always moaning about everything!
If I blog about work-related stuff
- That’s so unprofessional!
If I blog about the past
- She can’t let go!
If I blog about friends
- “No, don’t blog about this. I don’t want anyone to know!”
- “Who was it you were blogging about?” – stop asking me!!
- She’s such a bitch! She blogged about me the other day!
If I don’t blog about friends
- “Why don’t you blog about me? Am I not important enough?” – I can’t win!!!!
If I blog about a confession
- OMG! Can you believe she did that? And she calls herself a Christian…
If I blog about christianity
- She’s such a hypocrite!
I GET TOO MUCH GRIEF FROM PEOPLE!!!! I can’t win!
For the last two days, I have been thinking about shutting down this entire website. But then again, I know I cannot please everyone.
Thanks to all those who have supported me. Thanks for laughing with me, crying with me and just understanding my sense of humour. Thanks for not taking everything I take too seriously and for loving me regardless.
I know some people (who know me in real life) view me differently after reading my blogs. They often say how I am in real life is different to my blogging persona.
Blogging is not my life. My life does not revolve around blogging. I don’t reveal all the details of my life in my blogs. I just write about random stuff that pops into my head. I don’t need therapy.
Anyway, I have wasted enough of your time. Thank you for reading.
I just want to end with two things. I love my Husband. And I love Hello Kitty.

Awww I’m sorry to hear this. A blog is just a space to write whatever you fancy and i think the people who leave negative comments are the ones that have unresolved issues either with you or themselves that’s why they have to do it over the internet. I doubt anyone will have the courage to say whatever they wrote in real life.

I think your thoughts are amazing and tend to lighten my mood after I read your post. Pretty please dont shut it down <3

I hope you don’t stop blogging either! It’s a joy to pop along here to read your posts no matter what the topic is. It’s ridiculous people have times in their lives to do such silly things when they could be sorting themselves out instead. I believe blogging is like your own canvas and you should feel free to blog about anything you like

@Wing, Thanks for such an encouraging comment Wing! I just don’t understand why people have to send me threats and hassle me. I don’t think people understand the time and effort and even money (because I bought my own domain name and hosting server) put into blogging. Anyway, thanks for your support

Nooo don’t shut down
your blog cheers so many of us up! there will always be people who have issues with you no matter what you do (or don’t do for that matter!) and the internet is a perfect place for those kinds of people because they can hide behind a monitor anonymously like cowards. Don’t let the silly haters get you down, they aren’t worth even thinking about. <333 got plenty of readers who love ya.
Oh, and hello kitty loves you too

@Elise, Elise, you are really sweet! I agree that some people hide behind the internet, but to threaten people and send them hate mail is taking it too far! It’s great to know that I have plenty of supportive and friendly readers like you! And hurray for Hello Kitty who always makes me smile

@Ling Tung, You’re so right Ling, negative catty comments is one thing but threatening and hatemail is taking it too far! I’m a little sensitive sometimes and it’s easy to take nasty comments to heart and i’ve been a victim of cyber-bullies myself, but if you think about it it says more about them than you cause afterall you’ve done nothing wrong but be your lovely self
i feel sorry for them if anything.
Keep up the aweeesome blog and keep your chin up <3 you have tons of readers supporting you!

@Elise, I’m sorry to hear that you had to go through cyber-bullying – it should not be tolerated. But I’m sure they’re all just cowards hiding behind their computers! Thanks Elise! You’re awesome!

@saraah, Hi lovelies, so good to hear from both of you! It is a shame that we are so far apart now, but it doesn’t stop me thinking about UK and friends over there like you guys. And yes, God has truly blessed me with a new life over here. You know the sad stuff I had to go through….
Anyway, reading your encouraging comment has definitely cheered me up! Thank you!!!

Hey Ling, I’ve been reading your entries since quite some time back – popped over from a “friend of a friend of a friend’s blog”…
I reckon if you blog, comments of this sort inevitably come along with the territory – some people have a compulsion to foist their opinions on others.
That said, if you’re happy with writing then I’d say just carry on doing what you’re doing – no point in letting others dictate your life right?
(will continue reading though!)

@beetrice, Hi Beetrice, I read your blogs too…and I found you through a friend’s blog…so we must have a mutual friend somewhere
And yeah, unfortunately, blogging comes with hate mail territory – but when it comes with threats, it just breaks me down. Really need a thick skin for all this shizz!
Anyway, thanks for reading and I will try not and let people dictate what I should blog and shouldn’t blog! They just can’t seem to understand the concept – Don’t like, don’t read!
Many thanks!

Threats even! That’s harsh. :/
Good thing my blog is so boring nobody cares about reading it. That didn’t stop random spam-bots from spamming on it back when it was still on Windows Live Spaces though.
I hope you don’t get too upset from hate mails.

@Johan Ho, Hi Johan, yes I got threatened. I mean, I can handle hate mail but threats are too extreme!!
Keep blogging because I read them. I think personal blogs are inspiring in their own ways.

it takes courage to run a blog! definitely don’t shut it down! you’re never going to please everyone, but it doesn’t mean that you don’t write valuable stuff for the people that are ready to hear it.

@rachel, Thanks Rachel, your support means a lot to me. I think some personal blogs are raw and show another side to a person and can provide insight into their lives. But then some people take things too seriously and can condemn you because of it. Ah well, I shall plough on and see how things go. I feel awful that I have to monitor comments on my blog now – just in case, someone else wants to threaten me again! Eeks.

Dear Ling,
You write so well and you’re so comical and funny. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post. REALLy. don’t stop blogging. Are people that sick to send hate mails and threats??? That’s awful. Your blogging site belongs to you. If people don’t like what they read they should just stop reading all together rather than writing hate messages or giving threats. Such losers.
Don’t stop writing please!

I completely agree with this post!
There’s a line between constructive criticism and just being hateful. Sometimes people take there opinion way to far. That’s why I added a disclaimer to the top of my blog.
If they don’t like what you have to say, no one is forcing them to read it. As long as you’re not soliciting readers to do anything illegal or immoral, or expressing serious hateful thoughts – I say go for it! There’s nothing wrong with writing down what amuses you =)

@Lindsay, Thanks Lindsay! You’re a blogger too so you must know how it feels too right? It’s so draining to be criticised all the time…But I can’t let the haters win! Thanks for your supportive comment
Feeling the love
