Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

When I was younger, my Mum used to cut my hair. I was NEVER allowed to grow my hair. It was always just above my chin. And I looked absolutely ugly!! When I was about 11, my Mum allowed me to grow my hair slightly longer. It was about shoulder length…and I was like the happiest girl ever!!
When I was 12, I started a new high school and I just could NOT fit in. It was too snobby for me. I would get really upset and unhappy. The people in that school were walking brains, so it was really hard for me to be as brainy as them. Sometimes, I got non-A grades, and my parents being Chinese, would say that I was a failure…
One night, I got the scissors and cut, cut, cut my hair…I cut it short to punish myself…(should have known that this was an early sign of self-harm)
This went on repeatedly…*roll my eyes when I think back to it*
The first time I went to the hairdressers was when I was 14-years-old!!!!!!!!! HONESTLY!!!
It felt so good having someone who took their time and effort to cut my hair. into a nice style. Since then, I go to the hairdressers repeatedly to TREAT myself!!!
I’ve had crazy hair – dyed blonde, dyed red, dyed brown, cut short, cut funky, layered, curled, etc…
And then, recently, Mr Geek told me that he finds girls with fringes/bangs are unattractive, so this played in my head (PUN INTENDED) for a while.
He said he would love me no matter what…He said I was the most beautiful girl…but then what if I got a fringe…Would this change his feelings for me???
So I put it to the test…today (day off work)…

Darn…he knows me TOO well… I was trying to create drama but he saw right through me…darn darn darn…I absolutely adore an intelligent man!!!
Anyway, Sis 4 says I look like Cleopatra!!
Mr Geek’s final verdict…He “loves” it…liar liar!!

i use to have a fringe… and cudnt get rid of it til i was… 9 or 10? then my aunty split my fringe into parting… =p and i first went to d hairdressers at d age of 15..and got layers done.. my head felt soooo much lighter..was kool geting it done at a hairdressers cos my mum cut my hair too wen i was smal…but my mums hairdresser cut my face with the razor knife! ><
fringes are back in style….

haha!! hm.. i remember once i had my cut so short that a friend in school thought i was new pupil in their class. She was like, what’s your name… i was putting things into my tote tray then… Didn’t she realise it was me?? I had to ask my mum if i could grow my hair long… i couldn’t believe it when she said yes.. lol!!
